Wings of Glory

O God, in despair, hear me calling to thee

From a place where I’ve fallen upon bended knee

To acknowledge Your greatness, my one saving choice

Shown by the longing in this sad lonely voice

I’ve been moored all alone in my desolate spot

Thinking I could untie life’s great twisted knot

That squeezes my mind to be so ineffective

When all that I desire is a heart that’s receptive

Unto You Lord I plead, unlock my understanding

Guide me to Your harbour, alongside heaven’s landing

Here I will wait, until You renew my strength

To feel Your love, it’s breadth and it’s length

Curtains torn open, reveal all that’s my goal

The light of Your countenance, the radiance of my soul

Uplifted I run, not faint nor growing weary

Risen with hope, upon the wings of Your glory
