The fields before me are sweetly flowered
And as I look out, I’m somehow empowered
By thoughts of God, with His creative touch
Giving every blossom, its heavenly blush
My eye sweeps the landscape, every tree
Then a sudden movement rivets me
Some bird now rises into view
And Father says ‘It’s just for you!’
Oh! such colours, Hoopoe pink and Roller blue
The Golden Oriole and Bee-eaters too
Fluorescent flashes, as they dart and twist
Speaking truth to hearts, that God exists
His beauty surrounds us, in nature’s variety
Glimpses of brightness, to the saddest society
When man looks to man, he’ll never cope
For Jesus Christ is our one true hope.
