I see a child making daisy chains
And think of those in other chains
Heavy as metal, yet can not be seen
Locking them in, from places they’ve been
Hearts torn open and never healed
Tears that have seared, wounds never healed
Secrets of fear, that keep them bound
A whisper, a shout, a dreaded sound
A message of love has to be told
An escape route down that narrow road
A journey that wipes away all the harm
A walk through the rain of healing balm
Within His high tower, behind strong ramparts
Is protection and love, for all broken hearts
His world’s real – not the land of never-never
God establishes His Kingdom, now and forever.
