Alone with God

Alone with God, what a precious delight

A conscious discovery of His Holy Light

It bathes me gently, yet with piercing dart

Captivating, enveloping, my openness of heart

A hand covers mine, we walk, we stand

Beside the Red River that cuts through this land

I’m taken, broken, blessed and forgiven

Divinely filled and Spirit driven

With the ear of faith I hear His voice

Resounding, echoing, a singular choice

Always to listen, always to see

With the Mind of Christ given to me

This heavenly realm is always in sight

When longing pulsates to reach Shekinah height

Here fig tree bears fruit alongside blossoming vine

For I am my beloved’s and He is mine
