Above the circle of the earth

Above the circle of the earth

Soars an eagle of noble birth

Amid the heavens amber eyes are keen

To search for fears and hurts unseen.

He feels an echo of a distant thud

As a soul now crumbles where once it stood

He tastes the air on whispering sighs

Set loose in silence they upwardly rise.

He swoops beneath unspoken things

A strength, a power unknown he brings

To lift, to carry upon his wings

An inner life to the King of Kings.

The knowing bird soon comes to land

Within the cradle of a hollowed hand

Now cupped in mercy, along faithful ways

An aching heart finds the Ancient of Days.
